answer your question, Chief (Mrs.) Oyenike Monica Okundaye (formerly
Nike Seven Seven) was born in 1954. She is one of the leading figures of the
famous Oshogbo art movement. Her
art recreates Nigeria’s disappearing traditions in Imaginative and interesting
ways. A world-acclaimed artist and textile designer, one of her paintings is on
display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and she has conducted demonstrations
and lectures on traditional Nigerian textiles at Harvard University and
other universities in the United States, Nigeria, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy
and other parts of the world.

For twenty-five years, the gallery has occupied 74B, Norman Williams Street, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria and a lot of people are not aware that it actually started from a store on 33A, Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos, before it moved to its present location.

An exhibition of paintings titled Triad by three contemporary Nigerian
artists: Suraj Adekola, Monsur Awotunde and Olorunfemi Kinrin will open this
weekend, Saturday, May 19 and runs till Saturday, June 3, 2018 at Alexis Galleries,
Victoria Island Lagos.
