Duke Emuyenwomano Asidere is one Nigerian artist known for his unique style, a most
significant artist of his time and outspoken. Born on October 7, 1961. According
to him, “he was raised by mostly women” because his father was in the navy and
travelled a lot.
He graduated
First Class with B.A. in painting received from Ahmadu Bello, University, Zaria
in 1988. He obtained MFA in painting in 1990 from the same institution. He
taught Art for five years at Auchi Polytechnic and became a full time studio
artist. He is a member of Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria (GFA).
