The competition, aimed at promoting creativity and empowering young artists, will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the John Ogene Drawing Studio, Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Benin, Benin City.
Participants will compete for cash prizes, with the winner receiving ₦200,000, while the first and second runners-up will receive ₦150,000 and ₦100,000, respectively. Organisers also announced that several consolation prizes will be awarded.According to the organisers, participation in the competition is free, which provides opportunities for emerging artists and students to showcase their talents, gain exposure, and connect with the wider art community.
The event reinforces the message that creativity is a valuable asset and that, indeed, "Art Dey Pay."
