Ifeoma Fafunwa is
a professional Creative Director with over 20 years of creative experience in
the United States of America and Nigeria. Her recent work in Nigeria includes a
number of Sefi Atta’s plays, Diagnosis at the Lagos Theatre Festival and
the very successful premiere of HEAR WORD!
In 2012, Fafunwa
directed Nigeria’s cultural submission for the London Olympics and in 2014 she
participated in the London International Festival of Theatre (LIFT). She is a
member of the African Leadership Initiative for West Africa; Global Leadership
Initiative and runs a pro-bono acting workshop for young Women.
She was
an Associate Director and performer in Longitude, a world first online performance
from The Space. Longitude was a live play with actors in three cities on the
same longitude line (London, Barcelona and Lagos), focusing on global water
shortages. The piece was performed in a Google hangout.
Her
accomplishments include working as a Creative Director for The
Integer Group (an Omnicom
Company) where she worked on campaigns featuring Magic Johnson, Jamie Fox and
Dr. Dre. Her show, Eggs and Fleas, was performed in Los
Angeles and nominated as Best Solo Theatre Performance by The Los Angeles
Weekly.
She lives in Lagos, Nigeria and is married
with four children
