FRAGMENTS Brings Six Artists Together for Miniature Art Fair at ArtLab Gallery

ArtLab Gallery is ready to present Fragments, a collective exhibition celebrating the possibilities of smaller-scale visual storytelling. The exhibition opens to the public at 2pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and runs through Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at ArtLab Gallery, 8 Isaac John Street, Ikeja G.R.A., Lagos, Nigeria. 

The exhibition brings together a diverse selection of works for art collectors, enthusiasts and members of the public to experience the power of art contained within intimate dimensions at affordable prices.

The exhibition features six visual artists, anchored by celebrated Master Artist Lekan Onabanjo (FSNA, GFAN), whose involvement brings decades of artistic practice and experience to the showcase. Joining Onabanjo are five contemporary artists: Kkk Olojo, Paul Ayokhai, Adewale Awesu, Moses Oghagbon and Olumuyiwa A. Olushola. Together, the artists present an eclectic mix of rich landscapes, fluid figurative studies, abstract compositions and culturally rooted motifs.

A look at the preview works reveals the range of styles represented in the exhibition. The works include a contemplative architectural street scene by Lekan Onabanjo, a highly textured and vibrant gathering beneath a striking red umbrella by Kkk Olojo, and a richly textured abstract landscape by Paul Ayokhai. Adding to the diversity are Adewale Awesu's trio of patterned symbolic figures, Moses Oghagbon's distinct depiction of majestic figures on horseback, and an ethereal, high-contrast watercolour study of the human form by Olumuyiwa A. Olushola.

By centring the exhibition around the theme of miniatures, Fragments spotlights a format that demands discipline, precision and careful attention to detail. Working within compact dimensions requires artists to distil complex visual ideas, cultural narratives, emotional depth and technical skill into smaller spaces, offering viewers an intimate and close-up encounter with the works.

The exhibition will also provide an opportunity to see how different artistic approaches can coexist within the same compact format. From architectural and landscape imagery to figurative, symbolic and abstract compositions, the participating artists demonstrate how scale does not necessarily limit the depth or range of a work.

The opening reception is expected to bring together members of the art community, including artists, collectors, enthusiasts and cultural observers. Admission is free and open to the general public throughout the exhibition.
