| Emotional Nurishment (Acrylic on Canvas, 2026) |
Through
expressive figurative compositions, layered textures, and vibrant visual
narratives, Ozangeobuoma examines the many dimensions of human connection. The
works explore themes of self-love, romantic affection, compassion, sacrifice,
unity, and emotional resilience.
Yet Love–Amour is far more than a celebration of positive emotions.
| World Without End (Mixed Media on canvas; 2026) |
Rather
than merely documenting these realities, Ozangeobuoma offers a vision of hope.
His
paintings position love as an antidote to hatred, selfishness, and
disconnection. Each work invites viewers to reflect on their own role in
creating a more compassionate and just society.
By
contrasting humanity's struggles with moments of tenderness and connection, the
artist encourages audiences to imagine a different future—one where empathy
triumphs over indifference and understanding over conflict.
At a time when global conversations are increasingly polarised, Love–Amour reminds us that love is not simply an emotion; it is a conscious choice and a way of living.

“If only we can embrace love, the world will
be a better place,” the artist expresses.
This message resonates throughout the exhibition, transforming each artwork into both a reflection and a call to action.
Hosted by Galerie Amani in partnership with residency host Eklomiabla, the exhibition opened on June 4 and runs through June 27, marking a significant milestone in the artist’s career: his first international solo exhibition. Galerie Amani is recognised for promoting contemporary African artists and creating spaces for artistic dialogue across the continent.
For visitors in Abidjan, Love–Amour offers an opportunity not only to experience contemporary African art but also to engage with an urgent and universal conversation about our shared humanity.
